Microsoft Visio XP keeps updating its directory cache
Everytime I run Microsoft Visio XP (2002), I always get a message
"please wait while visio updates its directory cache". Usually, I only get this message once when running Visio for the very first time but now I get it everytime I run the program. How do I get Visio to stop updating its directory cache everytime I run it? I have followed directions from Microsoft KB Article dealing with this issue http://support.microsoft.com/kb/897765 but I still have the same problem. I have all the latest patches from Windows Update and Office/Visio Update. I have Windows XP SP3. |

Microsoft Visio XP keeps updating its directory cache
I installed Visio in a fresh Windows XP without any antivirus or other
applications. The problem seems to be related to Visio SP2. If I just install the original Visio from the CD, everything is fine. But as soon as I install Visio SP2 or subsequent patches, the problem pops- up. How do I install SP2 and subseqent patches without having to update the directory cache every single time? David |

Microsoft Visio XP keeps updating its directory cache
It looks like you may need to open a support case for this one. The
application events and install logs might be able to offer some clues.
