Having trouble moving "right, left, up, down" within Visio 2007?

Call me stupid, but I was having the hardest time understanding why sometimes
I couldn't move a shape to the right when I would select it and push the
right directional key on the keyboard.

I would just get the annoying system beep and nothing would happen.

I realized that the issue must be because if you go too far out into the
paste board (the area around the actual page) you are technically not
supposed to be there. Visio will allow you to place shapes as far out in the
paste board as you want, but if you are trying to move the shape even farther
out in any direction using the directional keys, it will not allow it.

So, if you are finding yourself unable to use the directional keys, it might
be because your shape is too far out into la-la-land and you need to bring it
back closer to the page, or make your page larger to accommodate.

Hopefully, that really is what the issue is. If it doesn't help you be sure
to say so.

If scroll lock is on, the object doesn't move, the page does
