Default Printed file looks like screen view instead of print view

I am working on someone else's file. When I open it, the colors view
incorrectly. They show as black/white in the negative & no color pictures
(the background is showing black - these are not the settings in the file.)
In the print preview, everything is correctly in color - text, pictures, etc.
But when I print, it comes out exactly like the screen view and not the
print view. The original owner of the file has no problem seeing the file
correctly. We may have different versions of Publisher - I get the same
results importing or opening the file. The owner is 20 miles away and can't
print to my printer. I need to have these printed for a bunch of 6 year old
girl scouts in 4 hours. HELP!

What version Publisher? The creator of the file probably had a different
printer; Publisher saves all printer information with each publication.
Try selecting a different default printer from the Printer Folder before you
open Publisher. If that helped, select your preferred printer when you go to
print; does the file print correctly?
Is your printer driver current? I'd check with the manufacturer's web site for
an undated printer driver. Otherwise save as a PDF and print from it. If you
have 2007 there is an add-in you can download from Microsoft.
