Default Operation is not allowed when the object is closed

I'm using Office XP on Windows XP Home with all the latest updates.
When I click on the following topic in Microsoft Excel Help:

Programming Information
Microsoft Excel Visual Basic Reference
Microsoft Excel Object Model

I get a pop-up that says:

A runtime error has occurred.
Do you wish to debug?
Line: 114.
Error: Operation is not allowed when the object is closed.

The error shows up in every page I navigate to from that point onwards.
It's a real nuisance!

Any suggestions on how to get rid of this problem?
Thanks,
Dario

In IE, tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab, tick "Disable script debugging",
un-tick "Display a notification about every script error"
