How to copy/export contacts to the address book in Outlook 200
I did all this, just as you wrote it and still cannot get my Contacts to show in the Address Book. Only my LDAP directory is available. Any more words of wisdom? "Russ Valentine" wrote: Remove and re-add the Outlook Address Book Service, restarting Outlook in between. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Sapa1001" wrote in message ... Hi Russ, Thanks for the info. I followed these same instructions before I posted to the Duscussion Group. My Outllook Address Book is there. In fact I've tried adding it again, which I'm not able to do becuase it's already there. I still cannot select "Show this folder as an email address book". I'm stumped. Could the following be factors: I'm not using MS Exchange. My email is internet based (I'm on a company LAN) I've also loaded "Business Contacts Manager" (which I don't really need and can remove if needed) Thoughts? "Russ Valentine" wrote: Something is wrong with this picture. The option would be available if in fact you had added the Outlook Address Book to your profile. After you removed and re-added the Outlook Address Book service to the mail profile, did you go back the the properties of the Contacts folder and enable it as an address book? -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Did you have a question or did you simply want to repost one?

How to copy/export contacts to the address book in Outlook 200
I have the same problem. When I attempt to do the following, the option "
Show this folder as an e-mail address book" is greyed out. I think that's where everyone gets stuck. Why is it grey, and how can I select it? "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: First step is to make sure you have added the address book service to this profile as explained he http://support.microsoft.com/default...Product=ol2002 -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "moot" wrote in message ... Russ, you seem in the know. I have a problem. Am using Outlook 2003. Have followed instrusctions to bring across addresses from Outlook Express, and now have them in my "Contacts" folder. But... whenever I click the "To..." on a new email, it brings up "Address Book" (which has nothing in it). I followed posted advice to 'select' the Contact' on that screen - but it isn't available. I also followed the instructions on the address mentioned above which says to open 'folder' go to 'address book' and click "Show this folder as an email address book" - unfortunately the area is 'grey' and unclickable. I am stuck.... "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Did you have a question, or were you just showing us you know how to create blank replies? The question you quoted is irrelevant since there is no address book in Outlook and you would never try to transfer data via the address book view. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "norie" wrote in message ...
