it's not only the ruler that is wrong, the "paper area" is also bigger than
it is supposed to be. and my monitor is large enough. |

ruler has incorrect measurements, what am I doing wrong?
I think most everyone here assumed you were posting the photo as a joke;
however if you are serious with your question -- The point was, what you see on the monitor has nothing to do with what prints out, if you had a larger monitor, the ruler would appear larger (perhaps even correctly scaled), if you had a very small monitor, the ruler would be way out of scale. Publisher doesn't know what size monitor you are using and adjust/calibrate the screen accordingly. Suppose, the image was sent to a projector, as you moved the projector closer or further from the wall, the size of the ruler will change drastically. The ruler is there to show you what the printed output looks like. -- James Orlando (Goofy says "Hey"), Florida "ayudameconpublisher" wrote in message ... it's not only the ruler that is wrong, the "paper area" is also bigger than it is supposed to be. and my monitor is large enough. |

Go your control panel Display properties settings tab advanced. If you
have the DPI setting at 120 dpi then change that to 96 dpi and OK out and see if that changes the size of your ruler to something that looks better. Why is it possible to change the measurement type anyway if it can't be
displayed correctly... All Office programs should use just "units" and not cm or anything else. Why would you want to see things in cm if the measurements are not correct. Can't quite get it. Thanks for the info, though. |

How would "units" help you know how big something is going to print?
