Default Stop Outlook 2003 from Downloading My Inbox to My local Machine

I believe that this may be the information I need also. I access the same Outlook account (on an Exchange server) on my work machine and my home machine. My home machine was recently upgraded to Outlook 2003; I am using Outlook 2000 at work. After having viewed my messages at home on Wednesday night and Thursday night of this week, I have just discovered that my emails from those two days no longer appear in my inbox at work. All of my messages reside (or did until now) on the Exchange server. Did I inadvertently download those files to my local machine using Outlook 2003? If so, how can I prevent this from happening? Is it possible or desirable to access the same mailbox using these two different versions of Outlook?

Thank you for your help.

If you setup Outlook 2003 to access your work machine using POP3 protocols,
it's downloading the mail to your local store rather than to your Mailbox.
The easiest way to clear that up is to go to the Advanced tab of your
account properties and check the box to leave the mail on the server.
A better way to fix it though, would be to delete the account you have
and set up a new Exchange Server account. That will allow you to create
a local copy of everything that is in your mailbox (not just your mail)
at work and keep things in sync. You should check with your mail administrator
at work to verify that the server supports that kind of remote access and
to get your configuration details.
