Linking incoming email in BCM
I have the same problem. I follow the same steps. I have
spent hours searching for a solution and the only references are these attched posts. Thanks for help. -----Original Message----- I cannot duplicate this problem. Here are the exact steps I followed: 1. Select the email message 2. From Link to History dropdown list on the BCM toolbar, select Accounts. 3. Click the Select Account button on the BCM toolbar. 4. In the Accounts dialog, select the desired account in the list on the left, then click the right-arrow. Click OK to save the account link. I can then do 2&3 again and see the selected account in the Accounts dialog. And when I open the account record in BCM, I see the linked message in the history list. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "Thorbjorn Sundboe" wrote in message ... I have the same issue (as reported a couple of months ago). Inside the I want to link, I select Account from the first window and scroll down to the appropriate Account in the second, then Save & Close. When I go to the account, it does not show up. Maybe it is a (stupid in my opinion) feature, that you are only allowed to link an email from or to the address registered under that BC. "Carter Johnston" wrote in message ... I want to link an incoming email to an existing Account or Business Contact in BCM, but the email is sent from another source. I've tried using the interface within the email that lets me select "Link to History" then the "Name", but after I save the email the link is not made, i.e. the email does not show up in the history of the Account or BC. . |

I am having the same issue as everyone else. The issue here is NOT being able to link an email to the contact being corresponded with, but being able to link a 3RD PARTY EMAIL to a different contact/account/opportunity. I have followed the instructions given here, in Outlook, on every forum and website available, and the only links I can make are directly to the contact/account the email was sent from/to. But the emails John sent me regarding Susie's account cannot be linked to Susie, only John. Sue Mosher - you seem to be the most knowledgable person I have heard regarding Outlook w/BCM. Do you have any solutions on the easiest way to link these 3rd party emails? ------------------------------------------------ ~~ Message posted from http://www.ExcelTip.com/ ~~View and post usenet messages directly from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |

If you have a retail version of Office 2003 Pro or Small Business, you may
want initiate a support incident with Microsoft at http://support.microsoft.com/default...incidentsubmit. You will need a .Net Passport, but there should be no charge for filing the request. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "Ron Lowery" wrote in message ... Linking incoming email in BCM
The steps I've suggested in previous messages have always worked for me, so
I don't have anything else to offer. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "MHaire" wrote in message ...
