Cannot add-in Producer
I've reloaded ppt (2002) and upgraded to Producer 2003, but I still cannot do the add-in for Producer. I've also put the macro setting to low security (although I do not like that) and have "trust all add-ins and templates" checked. I'm using Windows 2000. Producer was upgraded after reinstalling ppt. Please advise how to add-in Producer in Powerpoint 2002. Thanks.

Cannot add-in Producer
You may have better luck posting in the Producer newsgroup.
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp has an alpha list of newsgroups. Just scroll the nav pane on the left until you see Producer. -- Echo [MS PPT MVP] http://www.echosvoice.com presenter, PPT Live '04 Oct 10-13, San Diego http://www.powerpointlive.com "CalifornianEskimo" wrote: I've reloaded ppt (2002) and upgraded to Producer 2003, but I still cannot do the add-in for Producer. It's not clear what order you did this all in, but for it to work, you want to: Set security to low and set it to trust all installed addins and templates Then install the addin Then reset security to medium or high; as long as it stays set to trust all installed addins, you don't need security on low until you install more addins. -- Steve Rindsberg, PPT MVP PPT FAQ: www.pptfaq.com PPTools: www.pptools.com ================================================ Featured Presenter, PowerPoint Live 2004 October 10-13, San Diego, CA www.PowerPointLive.com ================================================ |

Cannot add-in Producer
Steve,
In powerpoint, both settings of security level and trust all add-ins are under the tools/macros/security setting which I did both at the same time. So currently I have security at a low setting, and trust all add-ins checked. Then when I attempt to install prod2.ppa file, I can highlite the file but when I click ok, nothing shows up in the add-in dialogue box. Thanks for the support and replies. -- Sincerely, Janis "Steve Rindsberg" wrote: In article , CalifornianEskimo wrote: I've reloaded ppt (2002) and upgraded to Producer 2003, but I still cannot do the add-in for Producer. What version of PPT and Windows do you have again? A couple things to check: Start PowerPoint, open an existing presentation or start a new one and then press Alt+F11 Does that put you into the Visual Basic editor? If not, you may not have VBA installed; it's an option in some PPT versions. Without it, addins can't run or install. Try the addin on another computer if possible. You might also want to try downloading it again, in case the file was corrupted during the download. Sometimes user profiles can get corrupted and prevent addins from running. You might try creating a new user on the computer (depending on your Windows version) and installing the addin while logged in as that user. -- Steve Rindsberg, PPT MVP PPT FAQ: www.pptfaq.com PPTools: www.pptools.com ================================================ Featured Presenter, PowerPoint Live 2004 October 10-13, San Diego, CA www.PowerPointLive.com ================================================ |
