Default Access .mdb and passwords

I copied an access .mdb from a friend's website to do some development on
my development server, but I'm having a little trouble getting the database
opening up correctly. I get this error;

"Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine
cannot open the file '(unknown)'. It is already opened exclusively by
another user, or you need permission to view its data."

So, I figure it's a password problem. My question is then, are the database
passwords stored in the .mdb file itself? If so, I can ask my friend the
info.

I just had that problem - was it open when you copied it? If so that is
probably what is wrong.
