Default Using Word 2003 and want to intall Word 2007 as a separate applica

I am currently using Windows XP and Office 2003 Student & Teacher Edition. I
would like to install Office 2007 Student & Teacher Edition and be able to
load either program, as needed.

On other similar posts, I see that I can install Microsoft Virtual PC 2007;
does this completely solve my situation and has anyone here done just that? I
want to make sure I'm not going to create software conflicts and spend days
trying to resolve any issues.

Thank you,
