Iam using IE and/or Firefox ono the web. Yes the install had worked for a
long time. Yes it is doing that, I am actualy in the computer industry and I
teach it as well. Not this type of thing though. That is where it is and
that is what it is doing.

Info is being added through the address book if I want to keep it. This
will happen when I try to send an email to an address that I have never used
before.

If it would help or possible, I can call you or visa-versa. If you email me
directly I will give you my phone number.

Outlook does not do that even when automatic name checking is selected.

A: Yes it is

how you are entering the address, its format, and what step triggers
the Check Names dialog.

Example: or hitting "to" and picking from the address book, or
hiting "reply" Either typing it in, or past and copy as well

State whether your installation ever worked:

A: Yes it did, had this problem for a while, then it went away. Now it has
been back for the last three weeks. No new software was installed, no system
changes.

It occurs when putting in ANY email address in any way that is not in the
address book. The Check Names dialouge box pops up and there is no way to
hit "ok". If I hit cancle or discard, the email is destroyed.

Thank you for all the help so far.

Hal.

name
checking
2) Pop if that is what you mean
3) When outlook does not find an email address or name in the
address
book,
up pops a message box that says it cannot find the name. Choices
then
are
to
cancle of discard. "Ok" is not lit up. If I hit cancle the
program
crashes
and the email is not sent.

Thank you.

My other 3 questions remain:
1. What "box" did you check
2. What mail transport
3. What is happening that you think shouldn't.

You checked what box in what Outlook version using what
transport?
Also state more clearly the behavior you are seeing that
you
think
you
shouldn't.

Outlook does not do that even when automatic name checking is selected.

A: Yes it is

how you are entering the address, its format, and what step triggers
the Check Names dialog.

Example: or hitting "to" and picking from the address book,
or
hiting "reply" Either typing it in, or past and copy as well

State whether your installation ever worked:

A: Yes it did, had this problem for a while, then it went away. Now it
has
been back for the last three weeks. No new software was installed, no
system
changes.

It occurs when putting in ANY email address in any way that is not in the
address book. The Check Names dialouge box pops up and there is no way
to
hit "ok". If I hit cancle or discard, the email is destroyed.

Thank you for all the help so far.

Hal.

All
Outlook requires is a valid address format. So I'll need the rest of
the
story: how you are entering the address, its format, and what step
triggers
the Check Names dialog. State whether your installation ever worked,
and if
so when it stopped.

Sorry. I am trying to explain it. I thought I did.

Reposting this:

Iam using IE and/or Firefox ono the web. Yes the install had worked
for a
long time. Yes it is doing that, I am actualy in the computer
industry
and I
teach it as well. Not this type of thing though. That is where
it is
and
that is what it is doing.

Info is being added through the address book if I want to keep it.
This
will happen when I try to send an email to an address that I have
never
used
before.
