You'll still need to provide at least some information.

OK. I'm sorry. I thought that much would have translated from the thread's
previous messages. Let me start over, using your questions. Relevant Outlook versions: The Outlook version on the PC I used to create the file was Outook 2003. The version on my other PC where I want to open/import the file is Outlook 2000. how the file was created: I created the file using the file/new/outlook 97-2000 (or whatever it's called). how you transferred it: I had originally tried to import the file, but now that I've read your earlier comments about how importing is what it is, you can tell what the results were. So, I simply tried file/open and selected the file. how you accessed it: See above. what happens including an accurate account of error messages: I tried to open (not import) using file/open/personal folders file (pst). The file appears in the "open personal folders" window. I select it. I click OK. The window disappears. Nothing appears in the Contacts view of Outlook and that window states that "There are no items to show in this view." In other words, my Outlook isn't "opening" the file, or at least not in the way that I expected. I'd really appreciate any help on making this work. It sure would beat having to remake all of my contacts. "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: You'll still need to provide at least some information. "dumb looks" tells us nothing. After I selected the format listed below, the pop up window appeared, I made
a name for it and selected the place to save it to. Then, I selected OK. I had saved the file to a memory stick. I checked in Explorer to ensure that a file had been saved and it was there. Looked like it was over 200K in size so I didn't do anything else to make sure that all of the contacts had been transferred. Did I miss something?
