Default Pivot Table - fix column size

I can select a column and set the width after
using "enable selection", and the new width sticks as
long as I only refresh the pivot table with the refresh
button within the Pivot Table Toolbar.
However, most of our users use the "Refresh All" button
on the External Data Toolbar, because it refreshes ALL
pivot tables in the workbook. This is causing the column
width to revert to the previous width.
What can we do so that column width changes stick after
the "Refresh All" button is used?
Thanks, Melanie

I think Im using a different version of excel than you
because I see options like preserve formatting and
autoformat table. Unchecking autoformat and checking
preserve formatting works for me and maintains column
width for both refresh options.
I dont know if this helps you.

Default Pivot Table - fix column size

I am using Excel 2003.
I have tried what you suggested, my column still snaps to
be too narrow if I use "refresh all".
Thanks anyway; any other suggestions, anyone?
