How do I send a distribution list by email?
I want to send a distribution list to another email address using Outlook.
The online help suggests going to insert/item. My drop down under insert has no item option. |

I just tried to retrieve this DL from the computer I had sent it to. No
attachments arrived with the email. "Brian Tillman" wrote: jewellbox wrote: I want to send a distribution list to another email address using Outlook. The online help suggests going to insert/item. Use the Insert Item command.
It's there. You did not specify your Outlook version or editor, so I can't tell you where. Did you look beside the attachment icon? (it looks like a paper clip). -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "jewellbox" wrote in message ... I just tried to retrieve this DL from the computer I had sent it to. Thank you so very much! You are exactly right; The insert/item is beside
the attachment icon. I understood it was under the insert command. Again, Thank you! "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Use the Insert Item command. It's there. How do I send a distribution list by email?
I was able to email the distribution list successfully via the insert item
command, but what does the recipient need to do in order to save the list and be able to use it? |

How do I send a distribution list by email?
I just found the answer to this and tested successfully:
The message recipient simply has to left-click on the attached file, then drag & drop over to the "contacts" icon. The list is then added to that persons 'contacts' list. http://www.bcps.org/offices/csc/supp...stribution.htm "Matt S" wrote: I was able to email the distribution list successfully via the insert item command, but what does the recipient need to do in order to save the list and be able to use it? |

How do I send a distribution list by email?
This isn't working for me using Outlook 2003. I have made sure I am using
Rich Text Format. I am using the drop down arrow to select Item next to the paperclip. What can I be doing wrong or what setting can I change? This is very frustrating. Thanks. How do I send a distribution list by email?
Sorry, to my knowledge I am doing it according to all of the instructions, as
follows: Open a new message in rich text format. Address it. Click the down arrow next to the paper clip and select Item. Select the distribution list, Send the message and ask the user to drag and drop it to their Contacts. I've tried this with two individuals outside my institution and both have told me all they can see is my contact information. Thanks. "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: "Isn't working" provides no information. State precisely what you are doing, where the DL resides, and what happens. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Nancy" wrote in message ... This isn't working for me using Outlook 2003.
