Export Word Table to Excel

Best way to do this? The Word table is growing and now the user wants to
work with it in Excel. I don't want to end up with a lot of merged cells in
Excel (there are carriage returns in the individual columns that Excel sees
as separate cells). Any and all ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

Search for ^p (or ^l as appropriate) in the table and replace with, say,
###. Then copy/paste the table into Excel, search for ###, and replace with
a line break.
