1st Christian name, 2nd Christian name, etc. in the same lookup ta
Access 2003 XP Pro
I'm building a database of musicians. 1. Should I have 1st Christian name, 2nd Christian name, 3rd Christian name, etc. all in the same lookup table and join to the main table in a many-to-many relationship? I could then define the order of the Christian Names (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) in the junction table. 2. Should I put Nicknames (e.g., Stevie, Joe, Fats) in the same lookup table as the Christian names or in a separate table or doesn't it matter? Initial analysis indicates very little crossover between Nicknames and Christian names. Thank you |

Initial analysis indicates very little crossover between Nicknames and Christian names. Put nicknames in another field. When doing name searching use the Like operator (along with the *s or %s) and search both the name and the nick name field.
