what's vexing about all this is that the help documentation contradicts what
i'm seeing: i.e., when i'm looking at the form in form view and click 'edit' i see 'delete record' as a command 'option' as i call it; however, when i'm in 'customize' view and select 'file' from the same menu bar, it's not there? what's up with that? There's no "Delete Record" menu item then, because the form has no records until it's opened in Form or Datasheet view. What are you trying to achieve? If you don't want the user to be able to delete records from the form, set the form's Allow Deletions property to No (on the Data tab of the form's property sheet in design view). If that property is set to No, the Delete Record menu item and the corresponding toolbar button will be grayed out and inactive, as will any other method the user might take to delete a record. -- Dirk Goldgar, MS Access MVP www.datagnostics.com (please reply to the newsgroup) |
