Burning a PowerPoint Presentation and keeping hyperlinks.
I'm working on a huge PowerPoint presentation for work and we have to burn it
to a disk when we're done so we can mail it across country. The presentation is very content heavy with lots of hyperlinks to documents on my PC (pdf's, video clips, etc.). I'm wondering, if I burn the presentation to a disk, how can I maintain these hyperlinks to the documents. They will want to point to a certain drive on my pc and most likely won't work when being played on the disk. I know I can't modify the content once it is burned to the disk, so what can I do to make sure this presentation doesn't lose everything? |

Burning a PowerPoint Presentation and keeping hyperlinks.
Your going to have to put everything into the same folder as your PowerPoint presentation before you make the hyperlinks, and all the material must go onto the disk. Keeping in mind that your video's may not work at the other end if your depending on the PowerPoint viewer to display your presentation.

That will fix up at least some, and with luck, all of the links. Package to a blank folder on you hard drive then use your normal CD burning software to burn the contents of the folder to the root of the CD. If that doesn't fly, have a look at our FixLinks add-in http://www.pptools.com/fixlinks/ Unfortunately, the free demo won't let you give it a good workout, but I'll be happy to help you get it working. ----------------------------------------- Steve Rindsberg, PPT MVP PPT FAQ: www.pptfaq.com PPTools: www.pptools.com ================================================ |

As you don't want to lose anything in the original PowerPoint including the hyperlinks in it. I recommend a conversion tool may help you do it easily. Acoolsoft PPT2DVD is a professional PowerPoint to DVD conversion tool which helps you easily burn PowerPoint to DVD, or converts them to MPEG Video. The final output will retain all subtleties from the original presentation, such as animations, transitions, sounds, video clips, and even hyperlinks between slides. You can also create flexible DVD Menus for your PowerPoint presentations to play on TV with a DVD remote control. More info about this tool: http://www.ppt-to-video.com/powerpoi...-overview.html Free download from: http://www.ppt-to-video.com/powerpoi...-download.html Or you can use its PPT2Video Converter, after you have converted the PowerPoint to video format, then burn it to a disc. More info about this tool: http://www.ppt-to-video.com/powerpoi...-overview.html Free download: http://www.ppt-to-video.com/powerpoi...-download.html Hope it helps! |

Sarah didn't ask about Dee Vee Dee (spelled out so as not to trigger another useless response from you and your ilk). Oh, wait. You're looking for any excuse whatever to flog your software. Ah. That's very different, isn't it. SPAM. ----------------------------------------- Steve Rindsberg, PPT MVP PPT FAQ: www.pptfaq.com PPTools: www.pptools.com ================================================ |
