Default Sort Form Records Using Field Names from Combo Box

Article ID 153579 explains what I want to do, but I can't get it to work.
This article explains how to use a combo box to select the field on which to
sort a form. My form is actually a subform and I would like to have the
option to choose either ascending or descending. Any help is greatly
appreciated.
