Default Send/Receive window has disappeared

I have been using Outlook 2000 on my Windows 98 PC for many years. I originally configured it to open a window when Send/Receive is pressed showing a message and bar that says "receiving message 2 of 10" for example. This has disappeared recently, not long after loading the Office 2000 Service Pack 2. It now only shows the Receiving and Sending message in the lower right corner. I've searched all the mail options and don't see how to turn on this window again. Can anyone advise?

Ken,
I don't know where to change the setting within outlook to allow the send/receive dialog box to been seen. However, I do know where it is set in the registry. If you are someone who has never edited the registry before then I do not recommend you perform this procedure. If you decide to edit the registry, then you do it at your own risk. Anyway, set the value data to 0 for the following value: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Ou tlook\Options\Mail\Always hide dialog . If the value is already 0 then there is something else causing your problem. Good Luck.
