Default Power Point 2007 compatibility with prior versions

I have used versions 2002 and 2003 to prepare a weekly church presentation
for several years. One of the most useful tools I use is "insertslides
from files."

Recently, another church member has submitted individual slides for
inclusion, but he uses version 2007. Since files created with version 2007
have an extension that is different from previous extensions, a special
program was provided by Microsoft so my 2003 program can read the slides
created by 2007.

I have successfully received and inserted his 2007 files into my 2003
presentations. However, a single, version 2007 slide WILL CORRUPT a
presentation of 50 other slides that were created by the 2003 program. Once
the 2007 slide has been inserted, its slides are not available when
"insertslides from files" is used to create future presentations. The file
is still in the subdirectory in which it was created but it is not visable
when the attempt to use "insertslides from files" is made.
