Default Design ideas?

Can anyone give me some help on this one please. I am attempting to design a
database based on John Viescu's building access applications inventory
sample. It is for my husband who is a manufacturer. He therefore buys
products from his suppliers (raw materials) and then makes the items that he
sells to his customers (windows and doors!).

I have the suppliers and supplier products side of it sorted out. I have
added a customers table but have run out of ideas with what to do next.
For example, he would make a door for one of his customers but would
obviously use the supplied products to make it, add onto that the markup and
invoice the customer just for eg a 215mm x 300mm white panelled door.

I hope i'm making sense here. I'm just not sure where to go next. Would I
have a "make items" table where i could query the products supplied table??

AAARGH!!
Any help would be much appreciated.

Jules:

It sounds like you have a good start. From what you are saying, it would
seem that the next 'natural' step would be to add a way to tie the necessary
raw materials to the finished product. You will then be able to calculate a
total cost, which can then calculate what your husband should charge.

Good luck.
