Default can't uninstall Office 2007 - corrupted file

When I go to uninstall my trial Office 2007 I get an error message telling
me I have a corrupted file and to reinstall and then uninstall. I did that
and when I get into one of the modules it keeps wanting to install and then
I get an error message that says it cannot find the required file.

I'd like to reinstall my Office 2003 but don't know if I should. I'm
wondering if I'll still get the MSO 2007 wanting to install again and if
that'll affect the 2003 installation.

Naturally Outlook is affected so I can't get any email either.

How do I resolve this?

I'm having the same problem, but not for the same reason.

I'm trying to install Outlook 2007 coz when I installed Office I didn't
think I would need it but now I want it, and in Uninstall Programs (in Vista
Ultimate), I click change, it starts the installer, the window goes away and
it just says 'Setup cannot continue because a required file is either
corrupted or not available. Run setup again from the original source disc or
download location.'

I then tried the uninstall button to the same effect, and I then tried the
original installer, which did the same thing, but it took longer to load.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218

This KB article resolved a similar error when trying to uninstall MSO2007.
I used the evaluation version earlier, and couldn't uninstall it. The
problem file for me was msohevi.dll. It gives an access denied error when
you try to delete it. I had to follow the instructions in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218, and the office 12 folder still
wouldn't delete, so I changed the office12 folder to office12old and reboot
and was finally able to remove the file with filetorment.

I strongly suggest that you do these registry changes only if you are
experienced and comfortable using regedit. I've been using it for over 10
years, and this procedure gave me a headache.

I have the same problem. I cannot uninstall Office 2007, but I did
successfully re-install Office 2003 anyway and it is working okay. Outlook
2003 migrated all my email from Outlook 2007. But I still cannot uninstall
a corrupted Office 2007. But at least Outlook 2003 is working. Vince
