Default please help-need to change type of file-office data file

I got a new laptop. Arrived yesterday. It has office 2003 installed already
on it. I have plugin files in my illustaror plugin folder i just added. When
I bring the files onto the laptop, they are supposed to be .PST file types.
Somehow office is coverting them to "office data files" which they are not.
How do i get the files back to what the are supposed to be as they wont work
in illustrator as "office data files". I need to change the file type back to
what they were when i pasted them, but cant figure out how.....someone please
help me.

..pst files are Outlook Personal Folder files. Did you have this conflict on your
older computer? Can you copy them rather than paste?

I have xp on my other computer, but not office. They work fine on that
computer. When I bring the folder into the c: drive on my laptop, it converts
them to office data files. How can I copy and not paste? please explain???? I
drag the folder over and it converts em. I just dont want the file extension
associated with office, how do I fix this without uninstalling office?

I should have said import not copy. Is this folder in the Illustrator file? Where is
the folder stored on the older computer? Have you inquired about this issue on an
Adobe forum?

its located in the plugin folder on the c: drive of both computers, works
fine on the pc, as it doesnt have office, the laptop automaticly converts
them because of office. I didnt put it on an adobe forum, cause I think its
either a windows, or office topic. I just to know how to unassociate this
file "type" from these files if possible.

Which Illo plug-in is it?

I'm thinking you may want to check with whoever created the plug-in, as
they've probably run across this issue before.
