Outlook 2007 Address Book
I having been using this application for over 1 year, without problem. As of
today, when composing a new e-mail, and clicking on "To", my outlook address book does not open. Instead, I get a window that says "Select Names:Contacts". In the past, my entire contacts listing opened up and I could click on the intended recipients. I've made no changes to any settings of which I'm aware. How can I change to the way it was? Thanks! Outlook 2007 Address Book
Hi Russ,
You helped me on a similar problem a couple of months ago on the PC in my office. In fact I looked your reply up to see if I could use to fix my home PC. I'm not sure I completely understand your response. When you say open address book, do you mean my Outlook contacts personal folder? One other thing I looked at prior to asking for help was to right click on the contacts folder properties. This opened a window called contact properties. By clicking on the Outlook Address Book tab, I can see that "Contacts" has been selected as the folder for my e-mail address book. Although there is a check mark in the box, the entire line is not "active", in other words, I can't uncheck, or check the box. Again everthing has worked fine for over a year then yesterday, it went south. No. I'm saying open the Address Book from your toolbar. In that view you
will have the option to choose which Contacts Folder you want to display first. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "dale1948" wrote in message ... Outlook 2007 Address Book
Sorry Russ, perhaps I jumped ahead.
First , I did exactly as you asked, and when I clicked on "change", a widow opened that showed my outlook address book as "contactsersonal folders". Within the same window, and above, the text said to go to properties in the contacts, personal folders. The dialog box showed that this folder was selected as the e-mail address book. As I said last night, there is a check mark in this box, but it is not "active", which is to say that the text and check box are light gray, and I couldn't change if I wanted to. I'm sorry for the confusion but, this is exactly what I see. Dale "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Wait. You confused me. The view I asked for has no check box. You said it does.
