OUTLOOK 2003 Addresses Cached Where if not in Contacts.

Outlook 2003 SP2.
My son has been using OUTLOOK but has never added any contacts. However he
has sent lots of mail. He has all his friends addresses cached in the "TO"
field. Is there anyway to extract that list?

I was surprised. If I begin typing a name the list starts to fill, yet if I
click on the "TO" button the "SELECT NAMES" form appears but the list is
empty. Where are they cached?

The AutoComplete address cache is located in a file with a .NK2 extension and
that file is located in a hidden folder in the user's Windows profile. You
would need a 3rd party program like Ingressor (http://www.ingressor.com) to
do anything "fancy" with that list, including extracting addresses. The only
two options you have with Outlook itself are to delete individual addresses
from the cache (start typing a name and when the suggestions appear,
highlight the "bad" one and press Delete), or by finding the .NK2 file and
renaming or deleting it so that the cache can be rebuilt from scratch.

If I understand you correctly, the addresses stored in the autocomplete cache
cannot be extracted except by using the autocomplete itself or by purchasing
another program to print a list of them... is that correct?
The ingressor website gave instructions for moving the autocomplete cache
from one computer to another; when sending a copy of that file, isn't there a
way to open it and view the contents? Doesn't Microsoft have a program which
will do this?

No. The only time you see any of its contents is when it is presented in the
suggestion list.
