Fade sound track on last slide in series
Greetings:
Microsoft makes a program called Photo Story that functions like a scaled down version of PowerPoint with one very unique distinction. In Photo Story, the sound track fades out on the last slide. This has been a very pesky issue with PowerPoint, because, as anyone familiar with the program knows, you cannot synchronize the audio track with transitions and animations accross multiple slides (audio moves at a constant speed, visual elements unfold at a variable rate according to system resources). Therefore, it is impossible to set the sound track to fade (using sound editing software) at just the right moment as the last slide ends. Invariably the sound will fade too soon or too late, even when played back on the same system that created it. If you need to distribute your show to be played back on other systems, this becomes an impossible task. To me, this is a huge problem, because there is nothing that can more quickly degrade a professionally produced PowerPoint presentation than a carefully orchestrated sound track that comes to an abrupt end on the last slide of the series to which it is assigned. Surely, if Photo Story can handle this problem so nicely, someone must have created a plugin that will automatically fade the volume of the sound track on the last slide. Any info on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks . . . Fred |

Fed,
I hear ya, mate! It is a nuisance, and PowerPoint does it poorly. There is, as you wondered, an addin that will adjust sounds, although I haven't used it: Change the volume of sounds http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00331.htm -- Regards, Glen Millar Microsoft PPT MVP www.powerpointworkbench.com Australia "Fred Worthington" wrote in message om...
