Can someone please clarify exactly which versions of Outlook will snyc
properly in windows vista home premium. Will outlook 2003 academic version work? will outlook in microsoft office work, or does it have to be microsoft office pro version? I have an existing version of Outlook 2002 that I used with windows xp and active sync, which now will not work. thanks. |

I believe either Outlook 2003 or 2007 will sync with Windows Mobile Device Center, but I haven't tried it. Will outlook 2003 academic version work? Do you mean Office 2003 Student and Teacher Edition? It should. will outlook in microsoft office work, or does it have to be microsoft office pro version? I believe that the Outlook version of any of the Office 2003/2007 suites containing it should work. I have an existing version of Outlook 2002 that I used with windows xp and active sync, which now will not work. Outlook 2002 is not Vista-compatible and that's documented. ActiveSync is not Vista-compatible and that's documented. Never update your operating system to a version that doesn't support the software you want to use. Check first if the software you have will run on the newer OS before doing an upgrade. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

which outlook syncs in Vista
I have vista home premium. I want to sync my pda that uses Windows Mobile
2003 second edition, with Outlook. I currently have Outlook 2002. Hence, I know that I need to upgrade my Outlook. I just wanted to be sure that any version of Outlook 2003 or newer would sync with Vista, using Windows mobile device center. I have read that Microsoft is working on making the Vista built in contact and calendar sync at some time in the future...but I am not sure if this is true how long it will be. thank you. You are not asking an Outlook question. Ask in a Windows Mobile group.
