SMTP errors sending non-mail items
Email sends and receives without error. Despite the statements to the contrary in the errors below the connection is active and regular email items process just fine.
Non-mail items (appointment updates, task updates, etc.) generate SMTP errors (samples below) and remain in the outbox in a 'prepared to send' state. Not sure if this is Outlook, firewall, or ISP issue. Using broadband connection. Errors: Task 'Cox.net Mail - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0B) : 'Unknown Error 0x800CCC0B' Task 'Cox.net Mail - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' SMTP errors sending non-mail items
Dis some digging and found that this is a symptom of incorrect default MTU settings in the router. Reconfigured and it seems to be working for new items. Old items still have trouble.
