Default Cross reference dialog box should allow preferencing

When I cross reference a caption I always want to show the item and its
nummber never its full caption. I'd like to be able to eithe rmake that my
default or the top item in the pull down list. Also, it would be nice to be
able to format the caption text from the caption box
