This morning all of my applications refused to launch - each giving
the error " This file does not have a program associated with it for
performing this action. Create an association in the
folder Options control panel."

I tried to create associations, but for some like the palm I can't
find them and it refused to recognize word. i don't want to have to
manually open everything - is there a fix? why did this happen? i
should also mention that the protride worm was found on my computer
today.

It looks like the virus took over the .exe association.
This Swen fix will correct that.

(download, right-click, select Install)

You might also read the information on the worm on your AV's site and
see if there is anything else you have to do.
