Default Meeting request not added to calendar

I have a user who can accept meeting requests, but the meetings are
not added to his calendar.
He has a rule set to transfer messages into a personal folder.
When he receives a meeting request he accepts it, the message is
deleted & a notification is sent to the
originator but the meeting is not added to his calendar.

If he turns the rule of and the request goes into his inbox the
meeting request is added to the calendar.

User is using outlook 2003, it's online and syncronised with the
exchange server.

I've checked that the delivery location is set to the users mailbox &
not a personal folder.
and i've also started outlook with the /cleanfreebusy switch.

The user has previously been able to add meeting request from his
personal folder.

Any suggestions?

If he accepts the meeting from his mailbox's Inbox, does it work? Since the
mailbox is synced to an offline folder file (as you seem to indicate) why is
he moving stuff to a PST?

No need to post more than once.

Yes

why is he moving stuff to a PST?

Most probably because the exchange accounts have a 50mb limit on them,
and this user gets a lot of large spreadsheets.

I'd setup some strong auto-archiving policies instead of moving items on
receipt.

To add to what Vince says, I would add an exception in the rules for meeting requests so that they stay in the mailbox inbox and will show on that calendar when accepted.

Sorry about the duplication... i thought that i had delete the
previous message.

Problem solved! User had created a calendar in his pst, so the
meeting requests were going into his pst calendar instead of his main
calendar.

Many thanks for your advice.
