Cannot Print Office Docs in Landscape
No, the driver is not set to default to landscape but
should it be? I mean, by that logic, everytime I want something to print to landscape I'll have to go into the printers preferences and change it? That doesn't seem right. No, it's not the way it's supposed to be, but it can happen with some combinations of programs/windows versions and drivers that setting the orientation or other printer features from within the app just doesn't "stick". Newer drivers may fix that. It's worth having a look on the printer manufacturer's site. In the meanwhile, if setting printer default to landscape works, then, you've at least got a workaround. With some drivers you can install multiple instances of the same printer, set one up for Landscape, the other for Portrait and name them accordingly. Then at print time you pick e.g. InkSchpritzer2000_Landscape First, are these locally installed printer drivers or are they on a network? The drivers, that is, not the printers themselves. Next, did you set up the driver to default to landscape outside of PowerPoint? In other words: Start, Settings, Printers Pick your printer When its dialog box comes up, choose Printers, Printing Preferences Pick Landscape then click Apply You might need to do that with some drivers instead of setting the printer to landscape from within PowerPoint. -- Steve Rindsberg, PPT MVP PPT FAQ: www.pptfaq.com PPTools: www.pptools.com =============================================== = Featured Presenter, PowerPoint Live 2004 October 10-13, San Diego, CA www.PowerPointLive.com =============================================== = . -- Steve Rindsberg, PPT MVP PPT FAQ: www.pptfaq.com PPTools: www.pptools.com ================================================ Featured Presenter, PowerPoint Live 2004 October 10-13, San Diego, CA www.PowerPointLive.com ================================================ |
