Default formatting the result of a public function

Let me see if I can explain this...

In a query on a report I've defined one of the fields from a public function
(module) I have defined. In the query it reads as:
CorporateContribution: OP_Amt([GrossAvailable],[OpIndex])

It is working properly and returning the correct number.

However, when I insert the CorporateContribution field in the report, I
cannot get it to format to appear as currency. the format options in
properties is blank; it doesn't have the usual drop-down list of options I am
used to seeing.

So, my obvious question is how do I get the field to appear in currency
format? (I'd be glad to share the contents of the public function if needed).

Thanks in advance.

In the infamous words of Gilda Radner, "Never mind." I figured it out on my
own.
