Country Code +1 inserted in before phone number
My OS is Windows XP w/SP3 and MS Outlook 2003 w/SP3, I have to use area codes
in all numbers. I'm faxing with a distribution list. I have to manually remove the +1 country code before I can fax from my list. When I remove the +1 my faxes send, but I leave the country code Outlook acts like I'm dialing long distance when I'm dialing locally. How can I configure my fax numbers to drop the +1 or can I create a dialing property to trick MS Outlook 200 ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. I went to Contacts Folder, go to Actions, Call Contact, New
Call... , Dialing Options… and Automatically add country/region code to local phone numbers was not checked and in the distribution list it still has the +1 as the country code which outlook is treating like a long distance area code. The area code rules are set in control panel, phone and modem options.
Did you check for area code rules in phone and modem options? I'm running Outlook 2007, have no dialing rules, have the add country code unchecked, and Outlook still insists on putting the "+" in front of the number. You'll need to remove the + from existing contacts but if you don't touch
