Unable to open files created in Office 2002 in upgraded 2003 insta
I've got a machine here running W2K, SP3 that I recently upgraded from Office
2002 to Office Pro 2003. Since the update, I've not been able to open any files created in 2002 without first having to email them away, and then have them emailed back and resaved to disk. Once that' done, it seems to work fine. I'm not having any issues with documents created since the upgrade. Anyone have any suggestions? I've run the repair tools, reinstalled everything, etc...I just can't seem to find what I'm missing. The exact wording of the message is: (Powerpoint used for example...happens in Excel and Word as well) "Powerpoint can't read C:\Documents and Settings\userID\My Documents\Engagements\Client\Filename.ppt" Suggestions? |

Could be your anti-virus software. Do you have Norton? Disable "script blocking" and
in Norton options, misc., clear "Enable Office Plug-in." -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Sean" wrote in message ... No Norton...I'm using McAfee Enterprise 8.0. It was completely shut down
during the update. Very odd. Thanks for the suggestion. Sean. "Mary Sauer" wrote: Could be your anti-virus software. Do you have Norton?
