I need the “file, open, text property� feature that was in office

I need the “file, open, text property� feature that was in office 97!

I just started using office 2003 and have found a few things missing that I
use all of the time!

In the “file, open� dialog box in the lower right hand corner, there was a
text search field. This allowed me to search all the files in the current
path for that text property. And or selected files by partial file
properties. Then if I wanted to I could go to the advanced option if I wanted
to look in there sub directories.

I use this every day. Now it is gone. Replace by XP search tool that does
not start in the current path. This is a bummer.

Also the photo editor ins missing!

The office toolbar is gone as well! I know that I can uninstall office 2003
install office 97 then put 2003 over the top of it. BUT THAT SHOULD NOT BE
NESSARY.

OK I can live with the answers to the Photo Editor & Office Tool Bar question.

The below description is a detailed explanation of my exact problem. I am
very surprised that this is not a complaint that is herd often. When I go to
find a file, I just guess at the file name and use the partial string
capabilities in office first. WORKS IN OFFICE 2003!
But that is it.
In Office 97, I could further reduce the number of hits by plugging in a
text string in the lower right hand corner of the file open dialog box. This
only takes one step. I don’t need to close the dialog box or any thing else.
Just type in the string and hit enter. WOW IT WORKS GREAT. Finally if the
file (s) might be in subdirectories, by just clicking on the advanced button,
then selecting “include subdirectories� and again hit enter. NOW WOW that
works SUPER GREAT. The results show up in the original dialog box with the
path shown to the subs. You can point and shoot at any combination of the
hits and open the files all at once. ALL WITHOUT LEAVING THE (FILE, OPEN)
dialog box.
I wonder if the team that developed this functionality would be interested
in how much I like it. It is almost worth having both office 97 and office
2003 installed concurrently on the same system.

I think the above (FILE, OPEN) should be brought back for us that appreciate
the power of a good feature. Microsoft has done a good job of keeping the old
timers happy except for this time.
