Default Outlook Advanced find searches

I set the columns I want to use in the field chooser but can't find out how
to change the default so my selections remain between searches.

Once the search is closed, I have to set it up again each time.

How can I permanently change the view of the advanced search?

I want the “TO” field to remain and the “Categories” field to remain.

Unfortunately, there's no way to save your preferred view.

Are you using the advanced find window? You can save the search (file menu)
and it saves the view in the lower pane, including any fields you added.

The goal would be to save the preferences to be used with future searches.
Saving a search does not retain the "view" for future searches,,, but thanks
for trying. I appreciate the response.

Save a blank search then click it to open the advanced find pane and set
your criteria. Don't click the New Search button, just replace any criteria
with new criteria or delete unneeded criteria.

Hi
Create a New View, Set the filter conditions that you want, then save it.
To access the view again simply choose View-CurrentView then Select the
custom view you just created.

You can even set this to be the default view for the folder in question by
accessing the properties dialog for that folder and setting the 'InitialView'
property.

Hope this helps [ or have i missed the point ?]

Default Outlook Advanced find searches

Hi, Johnny,

This is helpful. I created a search and saved it in the Search Folder with
the name "Custom Advanced Find". It has my advanced search specifications
(Search the entire mailbox, Search Entire Message, and the Fields I want to
see). To do a new search, I right click "Custom Advanced Find", and choose
customize. By clicking on the criteria button, i can change the word I am
searching for, and voila, every email in my mailbox with that word shows up,
regardless of the folder it's in. Thank you!

Rick
