Default Sticky Highlighting somehow stopped

Hi,

I like turning on the highlighter and then selecting multiple text segments
to highlight. However, recently my highlighter no-longer stays on. After
highlighting the first selection of text, it turns off.

Where is the option to change back to the default behavior?

Thanks,

What you are describing usually happens when you select text first and then
click the Highlight button.

Have you verified that you aren't inadvertently pressing the keyboard
shortcut to turn highlighting on and off?

Which version of Word?
