Searching a custom form
I've created a custom form for my company that uses no code and is based on
the contacts template. This is for Outlook 2003 The problem I'm having is that the search feature doesn't ALWAYS seem to work in the cusom fields (text) I've created. And I do mean "doesn't always." Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. For example, I have a field called "Secondary Name" and in it there's a client name called XYZ company. If you do a search for XYZ company nothing comes up. But if you go into the ADVANCED search function and add XYZ company in the Secondary Name field the company will show. But that advanced search doesn't always work either. It's erratic. Anyone know how to make searching custom forms in Outlook RELIABLE and ACCURATE? Is there some sort of property I need to apply to the fields or something? |

Searching a custom form
Advanced search is the only way to search for data in custom fields. The key is that the field must be defined in the folder you're searching, not just for the individual items, but at the folder level. If you can add it to a folder view and see the item data, then you should be OK.
