Default How many contacts can be record in the contact list

I have 4,000 names in my contact list and every time I add new one erase an
old contact. It's not allowing new additional contacts.

I have over 16000 in mine.

You have not told us anything useful such as version of Outlook, where this
Contacts folder is stored etc. Fill in some more details and we can provide
some guidance.

I hope this helps you at least a little bit!

what happens when you try to make a new one? Is there an error message?
Could you share it with us?
