Hyperlinks
I am attempting to use a hyperlink to go to a specific location on a slide.
My main objective is to have a simulated log on screen for a simulated medication dispensing machine for our Nursing students. The PowerPoint would simulate a person logging onto a medication machine (called a Pyxis machine), navigating to a patient's med profile and then pull drugs from a simulated Pyxis machine (essentially some med drawers below the laptop). It seems that doing this involves either a hyperlink, an action button or a text placeholder. Using the hyperlink, however, is seemingly limited to only the options available in the hyperlink dialog screen, i.e. first, last, previous slide, etc. The action button may be an option, but I have not used that function as yet. It sounds promising, but there is no option to navigate to a specific location on a slide. Using a text placeholder could be a great option; however, I can't get it to react the way I thought it should, i.e. clicking on the text placeholder with the User Name in it should remove the text, allow the student to type in their User Name, then press 'Enter', which should take you to the Password text placeholder (which is located on the same slide as the User Name), type in the PW, press Enter, which would then take you to a patient list slide. Any help or assistance for this project, would, of course, be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Lewis Optimally |

Hyperlinks
For PPT2003: Create 2 text boxes using the Text Box Option in the Controls
ToolBox (ViewtoolbarsControl toolbox); one for user name and other for password--this is different from a normal text box. Insert a button or create a rectangle with "Enter". Click on the button/rectangle; go to Actions Settings Hyperlink to Slide... (and choose the patient list slide). In slide show mode, the viewer will be able to enter their user name and password, but it's the Enter shape that will hyperlink them to the next scenario.
