Publisher very slow.....
Wendy was very recently heard to
utter: Ok, so here is what I did... I deleted the four pictures in Publisher, then I cropped the four pictures in another program and saved them as four individual pictures. Then I put the four pictures back in my Publisher file and now the size is only 1668kb. Publisher could not handle a big picture file, copied four times and then cropped down to four pictures. That's because Publisher stores a full-resolution copy of each copied image, and does not delete the cropped data. Cropping in an image program removes all the extraneous image data, reducing the size of the file that Publisher must work with when redrawing. -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher |

Publisher very slow.....
Hi - I am working with Publisher 03 now on a calendar. The calendar
orginiated on 2000 and when it transfer, all images got very large. Now I am having a hard time resizing things. It's taking forever to change just the font. I have go to pictures to do a fast resize but it hasn't made a difference. HELP?? "Wendy" wrote: I have tried to look through other posts and did what people suggested: turn down acceleration and update video driver. I have Publisher 2002 SP3. Is there any updates that can help me? The file has a small advertisment I made that is 2x2.58 inches with 4 pictures that are all cropped and some text boxes... It takes a long time to load and if I try to move something or select something it takes what seems like a minute before I can work with it. Any ideas??? |

Publisher 2000 did not use compression. This article has some workarounds.
