Pub 2007 Design Gallery problems
Actually, I've had more success opening 2003 files than trying to create new
2007 files. In fact, I've not yet successfully created a new 2007 file. However, I've been able to intermittenly edit a 2003 file, but more times than not the program crashes. Yes, I've actually run Detect & Repair every time the program locks up, effectively rebooting after. I've even tried removing the program entirely and installing a newly downloaded .exe file. I promise I'm not trying to make this difficult -- I just wish I could use the program without this one issue. Is there a default template file that could be deleted that may fix the problem? With Word 2007, a similar issue happened with the new Building Blocks. Deleting the original Building Blocks file and restarting Word resolved that issue. I just don't know Publisher well enough to know if there is a similar file...? "Mary Sauer" wrote: Might try a detect & repair. Mary, Thanks so much for responding. I'm currently running the Trial and am hesitant to go to the "Real Deal" if I can't get this issue fixed. I do have a printer enabled and I just read the FAQs you posted, but still seem to have this issue. I've tried my acceleration at different levels and it doesn't seem to have any impact on the reliability of this program. "Mary Sauer" wrote: Are you using a trial or the real deal? Do you have a printer enabled? Have you tested to see if it is your video driver? I'm having this same problem and have yet to find a fix. The program occassionally "freezes" when trying to open an existing file, as well. After running the Repair utility, I can successfully open one new or existing file. Then, the next time I try to open anything, the program freezes. I'm running Publisher 2007 on an XP machine. I'm using the latest version of Office 2007 with Vista. Every time I try to access the Design Gallery (through the button or the menu bar) the program crashes. The same thing happened to me with I try to apply a new template to an existing publication. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

I haven't figured out all of the details yet, BUT, disabling the Business
Contact Manager has resolved this issue for me. "Deanna Reynolds" wrote: Actually, I've had more success opening 2003 files than trying to create new 2007 files.
