i created a form, made a split form out of it so the form is below and the
datasheet above. i then try to embed this split form in another form and i

Default splitform and subform help

What version of Access you're using?

What do you mean you can't get the split form to appear and when you move the
datasheet to the main form? What do you mean by moving?

What is the relationship between the main form and the subform datasheet and
what is the matching IDs between them?

As Karl posted, have you link (correctly) to the master/child to the IDs
between the forms?

I am having the same problem (see post "Split form (left/right)..."
I am using Access 2007 with the master and sub forms linked with "CompanyID".
Can supply more details if this would help.

As far as I know, (the splitform) if you put it into a MainForm it will only
show it as a Form without the Datasheet view. Splitform is pretty new here,
so it may not work the way you wanted.

You have to use it as a standalone SpiltForm.
