Listbox
I have a 6 column listbox that receives its data from 3 tables. Users may
enter data via a form and the listbox acts as a summary sheet. The problem I'm having is that if, for some reason, all 3 tables are not populated via the form, the listbox does not show the partial recordset. Let's say the user makes an incomplete entry, power goes out, forgets, errors ...whatever reason. One of the tables has data but because its an incomplete record, the listbox does not display ot. So, the user cannot go back to change it correct it or delete it. How can I get the listbox to display the incomplete record? In essence, I have a parent with no kids....a reverse orphan of sorts. Better yet, once the partial record is created, how do I get rid of it? Thank you in advance vb -- Message posted via http://www.accessmonster.com |

Listbox
I'm guessing your listbox uses a query (or SQL statement) to 'gather' its
records. If the query relies on "equi-joins", only records with matching keys across all joined tables will be shown. If you want ALL of table1, plus ANY of table2 and/or table3 records to show in the query, you need to use a directional join (e.g., LEFT or RIGHT). Listbox
Hi Jeff,
Thank you, that is correct. I've not had the opportunity to use that feature but I clearly understand now why its there. You've saved the day! vb Jeff Boyce wrote: I'm guessing your listbox uses a query (or SQL statement) to 'gather' its records.
