PowerPoint Font Size Problem When Printing
Greetings All:
I'm encountering a very frustrating PowerPoint problem (Version 2003) that appears related to what many other users have run into, based on certain posts, but also seems immune to some of the suggested fixes I've read about. After creating a presentation, even though everything looks great on the screen, and the layout looks flawless in Print Preview mode, when I print handouts (of any variety) the font on certain slides "blows up" and gets significantly bigger, causing the text to run off the bottom of the frame and therefore for the handouts to be worthless. I'm using a Minota Magicolor 2300W printer for what it's worth, but the same problem occurs printing to Acrobat Distiller, as well, so it doesn't seem like a printer driver issue to me. Solutions I've tried that haven't fixed the problem: -- Disabled all of the AutoFit and AutoCorrect options -- Checked the "Print TrueType Fonts as Graphics" box in the Tools/Options/Print Menu -- Tried copying and pasting slides that actually work and print correctly, retyping the desired text, and seeing if that resolved the problem Despite these attempted fixes, same problem, things look great on the screen but the font size gets inexplicably increased upon printing. Any suggestions for other things I might try to resolve this issue? Having eliminated so many variables that might be causing this problem, I've got to think there's some minor setting or hidden formatting issue somewhere that's causing the glitch. And if anybody is REALLY interested in lending a hand, don't hesitate to e-mail me at and I can send a sample of the file that's causing me problems to see if that can help with the troubleshooting... Thanks! |

I've run into the same problem myself. I've noticed that it occurs only on
the pitches I get from other people; I've never had it occur in a presentation done from scratch. Most everyone here recycles pitches over and over again, so a file may actually be years old with any problems along the way. You might try importing the presentation into a new file. I've also copied the text (not the text box), deleted the text, and then pasted it back onto the slide. -- Linda Adams http://www.hackman-adams.com http://www.david-hedison.com " wrote: Greetings All: I'm encountering a very frustrating PowerPoint problem (Version 2003) that appears related to what many other users have run into, based on certain posts, but also seems immune to some of the suggested fixes I've read about. PowerPoint Font Size Problem When Printing
I have exactly the same problem as Matt has. All our clients are set-up the
same way. We have SP1 installed on PPT 2003. I checked the textboxes on the Notes of all slides and they already show the same font. I went into Master View of the Notes and verified that the default on the text box is also set to Times new Roman 10. What makes it worse is that on of my colleagues opens the same presentation, clicks on one of the slides that print a bigger size of font, changes to the same font (Times new Roman 10) and prints it correctly (different printer).
