When merging from excell, how do I keep $ and no decimal

I am trying to merge an Excell spreadsheet into Word. One of my columns, is
a computed figure title Total Contact. In Word, I want the number to be in
this format: $30,800. I can only get it to print in this format 30800.25.
How do I do this?

Shelly, Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same problem, even if
I actually key the comma in the Excel file. I handled the "$" by including
it in my Word file.

closing } at the following formatting switch:

I also facing this problem when doing the data merge due with no decimal ,
it can be solve by edit the field with the formating switch,

just wonder izzit any better solution to solve this , coz i will be
repeating doing this mail merge with different data every months , so it's a
bit troublesome for me to edit my field one by one ,monthly ....

You do not have to do it monthly, you just do it the one time in the
mailmerge main document.

Yes, you just need to modify the fields in the mailmerge main document the
one time.
