Default Transfer Data from AS/400/iseries

How is this activated. I have CL Access Express loaded and I want to transfer
data from AS400 to Excel.
This function should bve under Data drop down menu. Would be nice if
Microsoft can make it as a permanent function of excel

Did you get a Client Access Toolbar in excel when you installed Client access?

Tools|Customize|toolbars tab
look for a toolbar with client access in the name.
if it's there, show it.

Then click on it start your data transfer routine.

If you don't have that toolbar, try tools|addins and look for an addin that
points at a Client Access addin.

If you don't see one, maybe you could browse for a file named cwbtfxla.xll.

I searched for cwbtfxla.xll and found two versions of the file:

one was in:
c:\program files\ibm\client access\archive\code\ftexcel1\shared
dated: 11/28/2000 (size 40k)

And one in:
c:\program files\ibm\client access\shared
dated: 05/05/2001 (size 49k)

I'm using Client Access Express Version 5.0.

I'm not sure what the difference is between versions (both loaded ok in xl2k for
me).

Maybe you could either steal a copy from a coworker's pc or reinstall client
access????
